SIG Leadership Policy

SIGs are a very important part of the Council and the formation of new groups is a high interest. All industry members may become SIG leaders. In order to assure an orderly process, the following steps are required:

  1. Area is defined by leader and co-chair of special group. A mission statement is developed with a plan for meetings and leadership. The plan is submitted to the Executive Director for approval.

  2. Once approved, the leader is responsible for keeping the Council informed by submitting meeting reports after each meeting (meeting forms and information needed will be provided). Also the SIG should plan its activities three months in advance to assure adequate publication time of its meetings and dates.
