David
Michaels is a Managing Director of Digital Coast Partners (DCP)
and head of DCP's Communications Practice. Mr. Michaels has managed
a variety of technology-related corporate transactions including
mergers and acquisitions, private equity placements and strategic
partnering agreements. Through these transactions, Mr. Michaels
has gained expertise in a range of industry sectors including broadband
communications, wireless infrastructure and services, and storage
infrastructure and services, optical networking equipment and web
hosting and managed services.
Mr. Michaels
co-founded DCP's predecessor, CEA Montgomery Media, and helped to
build the firm into a recognized boutique investment bank. Prior
to that, Mr. Michaels managed strategic consulting assignments for
DCP's other predecessor company, Montgomery & Associates, including
market entry analysis, acquisition search studies and strategic
portfolio assessments. Through this experience, Mr. Michaels brings
strategic insight to his investment banking assignments.
Prior to joining
Montgomery & Associates, Mr. Michaels held various investment
banking positions including a position within Bankers Trust Corporate
Finance Department, where he helped execute merger and acquisition
assignments such as sale mandates and valuation analyses. Prior
to that, Mr. Michaels worked as a structural engineer at General
Dynamics, where he assisted on the Advanced Tactical Fighter program.
Mr. Michaels received an M.B.A. with an emphasis in marketing and
entrepreneurship from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA
and holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University
of
Michigan.
