SPECIAL
THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS
We live in
a world where highly materialistic standards of achievement often
base value on how much something costs. Since volunteers are not
highly compensated, it is not surprising that they are often not
recognized for the true value they bring to the organization and
the community.
Think about what would happen if everyone in our society who volunteers
suddenly disappeared? How would it impact our communities? We
just couldn't function without volunteers.
Volunteering is
Good for the soul.
The personal rewards of volunteering include an increased sense
of self satisfaction, self confidence, and independence, lower
levels of stress, new skills and experience, new friends, new
career options.
Good for
business.
Companies who invest in volunteerism generally benefit from a
more highly skilled workforce, increased morale, motivation, and
teamwork. They also tend to enjoy enhanced customer loyalty and
satisfaction, along with a better public image.
Good for
the community.
Communities are strengthened by groups of people working toward
common goals. As community needs are met, the whole community
thrives.
The Software Council also wouldn't be the same without our loyal
volunteers. So, in this season of giving thanks, we want to take
a moment to recognize all of the volunteers that make this organization
possible:
