University Technology Transfer Opportunities To Be Discussed
At Software Council's Orange County Chapter Oct. 25 Meeting

COSTA MESA, CA - Oct. 9, 2001 - University technology transfer opportunities and issues will be addressed at the Software Council of Southern California's Orange County Chapter Oct. 25 meeting, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Westin - South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.

The program will focus on how to partner with local colleges and universities, issues relating to technology licensing, and the dynamics of the creation of entrepreneurial ventures. Panelists also will briefly review the types of technology research currently being done at the University of California, Irvine, and field questions from the audience.

Panelists will include David H. Blake, Dean, UCI Graduate School of Management, UCI; Deborah Richardson, Associate Professor and Chair, Information and Computer Sciences Dept., UCI; and Dave Schetter, Director, Technology Alliances, UCI. They will explore prevalent attitudes regarding Intellectual Property rights, established policies and standards, as well as mutually beneficial alliances.
