We've come a long
way. Just 10 years ago we were made up of little breakfast meetings
of 7 or 8 original people. It's good to know that 10 years later, the
ability to pull up a chair and share your visions and concerns with
like-minded individuals is still what the Software Council is about.
We have provided more and more opportunities to do that for members
than any organization that I have ever been involved with.
The need to "hang
with the group", now we call it "networking" is as strong
as ever. The Software Council members have created an atmosphere of
comfort, familiarity, and integrity that has produced outstanding success
stories for many of us involved. Those of us who have given and taken
from the Council, know that our involvement gives us incredible access
to professional resources, emerging technologies, experienced professional
services, cutting edge business processes, and most importantly, association
of plain ole good folks.
Last month, I had
to send out an e-mail letting everyone know that we were making some
changes, the popular word today is "restructuring". Some jobs
were lost, responsibilities changed, events reconfigured, changes that
were all for the better. Our incredible staff, Catrina, Dawn and Kristen,
as well as the countless member volunteers and sponsors have picked
up the slack so we can continue to "hang with the group".
I thank all of you for your commitment to the Software Council.
I encourage all
of us to continue to share ideas, find answers to tough technological
and business challenges and enjoy the atmosphere of integrity that you
and I as members have created. As our industry continues to experience
its shakedown, I trust that our association will evolve more than ever,
this is exciting to me and I hope that you take advantage of the association
that you built.
