BOOTCAMP: VALUING SOFTWARE
COMPANIES:
A GUIDE FOR BUYERS AND SELLERS
August 21, 2003
Valuing
a software company is as much art as it is science, yet critically important for correctly negotiating investment or M&A transactions,
options prices, charitable giving or, in the worst of all situations, divorce settlements.
This bootcamp
features two panels of "been-there-and done-that"
experts and software executives who will explain how to understand your
company's value drivers and determine its value. The goal is to give you an
overview of the rationale and tools you'll need to estimate your company's value.
Specifically,
the bootcamp will help you figure out:
-
Why
software companies may have multiple values
-
The
difference between economic and compliance values.
-
The
difference between controlling and minority ownership values
-
The appropriate valuation methods
-
The
23 attributes that increase the value of a software company
-
What
characteristics make a company most salable
-
What
you should be managing to negotiate a better deal
The bootcamp's
audience includes CEOs, COOs, CFOs and all stockholders who
have a vested interest in the value of a software company.
