Software Council of Southern California invites you to their Executive Roundtable, a new eBusiness Annual Event, featuring three prominent business leaders from the Orange County's eBusiness community. The CEO's and top level executives shall confer with their peers on issues that are affecting their firms' strategic direction and operation and the eBusiness economy at large.

Join us in an telling and hear their incredible story and how they are handling the current market conditions. Some of the questions, we have asked them to answer are:

  • What is your outlook and forecast for eBusiness?
  • What are the key (one or two) issues (strategic or tactical) which will determine your success in the coming months, years?
  • What near-term technological advances do you expect to positively impact your business in the future? How are you incorporating them into your offerings?

Speaker Bios

Richard D. Shuttleworth, Senior Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank, currently manages a team of commercial lenders targeting emerging high tech and life science companies headquartered in Orange County. Rick has 25 years of banking experience in corporate, international, middle market, and technology lending. He was with First Interstate/Wells Fargo for 20 years, and has been with SVB for more than five years. He also serves on numerous boards and committees in the county. Bernard (Bernie) Cowens, Vice President of Worldwide IS and Vice President of Security Services at Rainbow Technologies, is known for his ability to translate complex technology into durable business solutions. As Vice President of Worldwide IS, Bernie is charged with aligning Rainbow's global information technology investments with both corporate and business unit goals. As Vice President of Security Services, Bernie Cowens leads Rainbow's professional services in helping Fortune-class clients transition their business processes to the Internet while protecting their data. Bernie is a computer and information security expert with over 20 years experience in developing and implementing information security systems for government and the private sector. His areas of expertise include enterprise security and risk assessments, security architecture and design, intrusion detection, incident response, forensics, PKI issues, electronic commerce, digital signatures, security policy development and implementation, disaster recovery and continuity planning, and developing functional requirements from federal, state and local mandates (i.e., HIPAA, GLBA, SB 1836/AB 700, Privacy Act). A former military officer, Bernie joined Rainbow Technologies in 2000 and initially lead the security consulting services division of their Spectria business unit.Bernie graduated from the University of Maryland and has a masters degree in management information systems.
