What is holding back the ASP
revolution?
March 27, 2003
Please
join us for a panel discussion on a topical and compelling topic:
What is holding back the ASP revolution?
Consider three questions:
1) Is ASP outsourcing, in fact, better, faster and cheaper?
2) If ASPs are better, faster and cheaper, why is this form
of outsourcing not already universal?
3) What is the recipe for a successful ASP business?
And the answers are: 1) Yes, 2) tactical barriers and 3) it
is not one size fits all, but we can learn a lot from the ASP
successes.
The strategic benefits of ASP outsourcing are well established
and documented. Better service at lower cost flows from sharing
the costs of the principal technology, focus and process experience
that most individual companies cannot provide and/or justify.
Even relative to highly skilled and experienced in-house staffs,
ASPs are cost effective because ASPs benefit from greater focus,
process refinement, and economies of scale resulting in higher
automation, and infrastructure standardization.
The compelling strategic benefits make adoption certain, but
the adoption rate is governed by serious tactical impediments,
such as sunk costs and control anxieties.
Some leading ASPs and technology providers are tackling these
tactical barriers head-on. Join us for a powerful panel discussion
of what will make ASP successful.
