“How to Get More Than Just Money from your Investors”

Presented by...
David Fournier

The relationship between Entrepreneurs and Investors is among the most critical (and often overlooked) factors in the success of emerging growth companies. This relationship when handled successfully by both parties can be mutually beneficial and rewarding. A failure in this relationship can jeopardize the opportunity of what might otherwise be a successful enterprise.

David R. Fournier a veteran executive of startup and emerging growth companies will discuss this critical issue from his experience with Angel, VC and Institutional investors. Though Mr. Fournier has been an Angel investor in several startup in recent years he will approach this topic from the view of an Entrepreneur with understanding and consideration for the Investors who have helped him over his 25 years in technology emerging growth companies. His perspective has been developed by working with start up organizations of 14 people to mature public companies.

During this interactive discussion we will review.

  • What makes a good investor
  • Who should you avoid
  • How can investors bring you more than money
  • What do typical investors expect
  • What are they owed
  • Are they partners as well as investors
  • Why all investors are not equal

With over twenty five year’s senior management experience in the high technology and IT fields, David Fournier has managed organizations from startups to mature companies with over 400 employees. As CEO and senior manager for three start-up technology companies he helped raise over 25 million dollars in funding, leading two to acquisition, the other to a successful IPO.
