Pitch it to Me: Connecting with Top-Level Journalists

May 18, 2005

One of the biggest challenges technology companies face is finding a
compelling way to tell their stories such that journalists will want to
write about them and their products. Media coverage often drives sales, but
it's not that easy to captureattention of today's top journalists. What
makes a good article, and how can you get in front of your most important
media contacts? Moderated by former journalist Barbara Lewis, this panel
will answer those questions and many more as journalists from Southern
California gather to discuss how they develop stories and how you can be a
part of them.

As a special added bonus, the evening will also include an interactive Pitch Session. A few attendees will be selected to present a 90 second pitch idea to the panel of journalists for their feedback. Some lucky companies may walk away with a feature on their technology and customers!

Topics we will cover:

--What topics are driving technology media today?
--How can executives best prepare for media interviews?
--Do press releases matter?
--What's the best way to present a story idea?
--How often should companies be in touch with reporters?
