S.Becker
Philip S.
(Phil) Becker has more than twenty-five years in sales, marketing
and software development in the information industry. During that
period, he has worked with firms ranging from well-established
Fortune 500 corporations such as IBM, Xerox and Citicorp, to very
small, pre-IPO companies. Throughout his career, he developed
a track record of building marketing operations that dramatically
increase revenue and visibility while also delivering products
and services on schedule and within budget.
For the past five years Mr. Becker has been an independent management
and marketing consultant, with his own firm called The Venture
Group, which has been engaged by a variety of companies to help
build and implement strategic, product, and marketing plans and
launch new products.
Mr. Becker
has broad expertise in defining and coordinating the development
of new products, creating and successfully executing marketing
plans, and working with sales teams to negotiate and close contracts
with major customers. He has guided software design and development
teams, developed product and marketing strategic plans, prepared
collateral literature, created advertising campaigns and managed
the creation of web sites. He is a strong believer in the use
of the Internet and related tools to enable firms to target vertical
markets and reach them effectively without spending large sums
of money to do so.
Mr. Becker
has a BSE in Aeronautical Engineering from Princeton University,
an MBA from the University of Southern California and has completed
the CPA program at UCLA. He is also a member of the Marketing
Steering Committee for the Software Council of Southern California.
In his spare time he plays tennis at the Manhattan Country Club
and shares his love of wines by heading a West Los Angeles wine
tasting club.
