most industries have suffered through a slumping economy, sales
of video game systems and software are booming, surpassing $9 billion
in sales in 2001. An industry leader is Calabasas based THQ Inc.
which develops and publishes interactive entertainment software
for a variety of hardware platforms including PC CD-ROM, wireless
devices and those manufactured by Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.
THQ had sales of $379 million in 2001 and is forecasting sales in
excess of $500 million this year.
