Current Trends in the Wireless Industry
The Local Perspective

The term "Wireless Industry" has a variety of meanings -- cellular telephony, fixed broadband wireless access, mobile data to PDAs, wireless LANs, wireless Internet, 2 1/2 G, 3 G etc. The Panel brings together representatives from four Santa Barbara companies that see the wireless industry through four different viewpoints. Openwave Systems is a major supplier to the wireless software industry. Wi-LAN Technologies has leading edge fixed broadband wireless infrastructure products; SkyPipeline has an innovative business model for wireless Internet access; and Superconducing
Technologies is a key supplier of infrastructure devices to the Cellular industry worldwide. They each see the industry through different business models and through different marketing channels.

Are there common trends in the wireless industry that are evident from these different viewpoints? The Panel Session is aimed at giving the meeting attendees the benefit of these separate perspectives of the wireless industry and attempts to answer this question.
