Criteria
The
annual Software Industry Awards recognizes individuals and companies
that have made significant,
superior contributions to Southern California's software industry.
The 2003 awards will be presented during a gala dinner ceremony
at the historic
Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles on February 5, 2003.
Applicants
do not need to be members of the Software Council of Southern California.
The
award categories and qualification criteria are:

Presented to the CEO of a software company headquartered in Southern
California that has been in operation at least four years, and receives
the highest aggregate ratings in:

Job
Creation in Southern California
Financial
Performance

Innovation
Special consideration will be given to individuals who demonstrate
industry leadership by being involved in:
Industry
Trade Organizations
Legislative
Activities Pertinent to the Software Industry
Other
Civic, Community Involvement
Software
Entrepreneur of the Year:
Presented to the CEO or founder of a software company headquartered
in Southern California that has been in operation less than four
years, and receives the highest aggregate ratings in:
Sales/Revenue
Growth
Team
Building
Product
Innovation
Fiscal
resourcefulness
Special consideration will be given to individuals who demonstrate
industry leadership by being involved in:
Industry
Trade Organizations
Legislative
Activities Pertinent to the Software Industry

development of a product introduced since January 1, 2001 and that
receives the highest aggregate ratings in:

Functionality

General Rules and Guidelines
1. Applications must be received online at www.scsc.org
no later than November 25, 2002.
2. Employees or immediate family members of employees, independent
contractors with, or members of the Software Council of Southern
California's Board of Directors are ineligible.
3. Finalists will be notified by January 8, 2003.
