CIO of the Year
Presented to the Chief Information Officer or those in equivalent positions for their innovation and creativity in planning and deploying their enterprise systems, future IT goals, management philosophy and service to the industry and community.

The selected winner shall:

  • Possess primary responsibility for the information technology performance of his/her employer's organization or Business Unit with 250 or more employees, headquartered in Southern California.
  • Demonstrate innovative leadership through effective use of technology in support of the strategic initiatives of his/her organization
  • Display great creativity and innovation in managing their enterprise IT organization
  • Garner the respect and be recognized as a role model by his/her peers and employees
  • Represent the highest standards of leadership in information technology

Selection Process
Candidates will be judged on innovation and creativity in the planning and deployment of their enterprise systems, future IT goals, management philosophy, corporate culture and service to the industry and community, as represented in their completed applications and support materials.

All finalists must attend the ceremony.

About the Candidate's Role

7. Describe how the organization has used emerging technology to create business value.
8. List the candidate's short-term (this year) and long-term (three years) IT goals for his/ her organization.
9. Describe the candidate's leadership/management philosophy.
